FAQ domande frequenti

1. What criteria should I follow when choosing an aerial platform?

The first thing to consider is the height at which you will be working. We have models that can operate at heights between 5 and 23 metres.

Then you should decide if your needs are better suited by a scissors platform (SF) or an articulated platform (SG). Scissors platforms are especially designed for vertical manoeuvrability and offer a larger working area; articulated platforms are preferable when you need to get around obstacles and access places that are hard to reach.

The next thing to consider is whether work will be carried out outdoors or indoors. In the first case, diesel-powered machines are preferred, equipped with four-wheel drive and, possibly, with oscillating axles. For indoor work, we have electric-powered platforms fitted with long duration batteries.

In both cases you can choose from a large selection of accessories for better comfort or performance.

2. Is it hard to operate an aerial platform?

Not at all! Although the control system is very accurate and based on sophisticated electronics, the controls themselves are simple and easy to understand, and can be operated either on the ground or from the platform.

Operations like towing, raising, lowering, rotating left or right, extending, telescoping out and articulating the jib become smooth and natural when using proportional controls or the joystick control.

3. How can I teach my staff to operate and perform maintenance on the platform(s) that I plan to purchase?

Airo regularly holds training courses for operators, and provides all the manuals necessary for learning about platforms and their operation.

4. Are platforms really safe for working in high places?

Yes! Aerial platforms are the safest means for working at height, and AIRO makes the safest platforms! Safety and quality are the pillars of our product philosophy.

Anti-shearing protection, power outlets on the platform, load limiting devices, automatic anti-toppling systems – these are just a few of the safety measures employed on Airo platforms.

5. How can I safely use electricity for elevated work?

Almost all AIRO models are equipped with a 230 V power line (and circuit breaker) on the platform for working with power tools at height.

6. Do you have versions that can work on uneven terrain?

Yes: SG or SF models equipped with claw tyres, four-wheel drive, diesel engines and, especially, with oscillating axles and hydraulic outriggers.

7. What happens if my AIRO platform is examined by work safety inspectors?

No problem! AIRO platforms are made to conform with the most stringent regulations on work safety.
